On top of the mountain

I'm falling a little behind with the blogging, with taking photos, with cleaning the house... trying to keep up with the things that seem most important at the moment. Although keeping this up should be up there, since this blog is how I remember these precious days with my little ones! We had a wonderful Mt. Lemmon day (last weekend!) and actually, another short one today when we went all the way up there to look for Chris' lost eyeglasses (to no avail). I'll try to share today's photos before next weekend, but for now, here are the ones from last weekend. A stream like this one is so rare in our desert days that a trip up to the cool forest, and to a stream, was pretty exciting for these boys. It doesn't take much more than some running water and a few rocks to make happiness.

I had my big camera with me (although it was the middle of the day, so don't get your hopes up on the quality) and I made an effort to get some portraits, but that hair! Noah refuses to let me cut it, which I want to respect, and I don't have anything against long hair, but geez. It doesn't make for a great portrait.)

Of course, crazy hair or not, they're still adorable.

In this one, looking down the ski slope, you can see how far up out of the desert we are. You can see so far from the top of the mountain on clear days.

We went up to meet the mountain bike club. Chris went on a short ride while I got to stay with the younger cohort of the mountain bike club, pictured below in their "secret hideout" where they were guarding some ill-fated worms.

And here's another one of this little cutie. He has a very strong personality, and is seriously a tough guy.

By the way, this was on Chris' and my fifth wedding anniversary. Hooray!
