Maui: Iao Valley and Road northwest

The day we landed in Hawaii was just airport to condo, and I didn't take any photos. This is our second day on Maui. We started with a little time at the beach. Actually, with the time change we made it out to the beach at 6am, and stayed until 11am or so.

Later, we drove across the middle of the island to the Iao vally, a beautiful place that had waterfalls, steep cliffs, and a little paved walking path through a traditional water garden.

After visiting the beautiful valley, we decided to take a drive around the northwest side of the island (from Kahului to Lahaina). Little did we know it was a couple of hours on a single lane, barely paved road overlooking the ocean. It reminded me a lot of driving through Guatemala, especially the little roadside fruit stands and town nestled in that remote part of the island.

You can see just how hairy the road was at times -- blind corner, single lane, yikes! But the views were sure worth it.

We made it to the west side, just north of Kahana, to see the sunset.

We ate dinner at the Maui brewing company. Overall, day 1 was a great day.

Out on the town

While eric and Jenn and the kids were here we showed them around Tucson. The air and space museum and botanical garden were some highlights for the boys. Especially the play airplane cockpits.
P.s. I know my photos aren't keeping up with my usual quality lately, but at least I'm here, right?

Waffles

We had a surprise visit from my uncle and his family last week. They came for their spring break and we had a great time. One of the first things we did we whip out our handy- dandy Texas shaped waffle iron and make breakfast.

Rocks

We finally splurged for a load of rocks to be delivered in the yard. Our little helpers did most of the work with the tonka dump trucks, as you can see. Doesn't the yard look lovely now?!

After Class

Since I've been taking a class this semester, we have a new Monday evening dinner at chipotle routine. Here is Wesley enjoying the meat out of his quesadilla.

Jump

We've been eyeing this mini-trampoline for quite a while and thinking it would be a great addition to our backyard (and save our couch and mattresses). We thought it would be a good forth birthday present, but so soon after Noah turns four it will be too hot to go outside. So why not a beautiful day like today?

Tea Party

Is there anything cuter than a tea party? How about two brothers having one together quietly.
