More Fun

New used bike trailer! A really nice family from Noah's school gave us this awesome bike trailer (the very same one we had been coveting at REI for over a year!). We finally got it all set up, got Wesley's special padded seat installed (he looked a little like an astronaut in there so snuggly), and headed out on the riverpath. I could hear "goo goooo" all the way along, and Noah was super excited to get to ride in there with his baby brother. He said to me, "Mom, aren't you happy? Now you don't have to ride by yourself." Yes, and, I get some extra exercise :-) Untitled This other one is from last week when we set up the pool and put just a couple of inches of water in. Tummy time in the pool on a hot day is really the way to go.

Some fun on the porch

Some more experimenting with Instagram on my phone. It's hot enough in Tucson already that we use a little water when we play outside. It made for some good photo opps. Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

Happy Birthday to Tyler

Tyler's birthday was actually last month, but he had a really fun birthday celebration on Sunday. Cheryl's family has a tradition of building shaped cakes, and this year Tyler's was a dinosaur. I had fun helping Cheryl build it on Saturday, and I think it turned out awesome! I had both boys with me, so no camera, but I'm really having fun using an app called Instagram on my phone to take pictures like these: Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

Alphabet from Lady Lark

My good friend Amy spent the winter doing these beautiful alphabet illustrations. So many of us were asking for prints of them, that she finally took the plunge and got them printed into this really cool set of cards. You can order your own set and see some of her other amazing art on her etsy shop here:
You can also see some photos of her kids actually playing with the cards here (I didn't really let Noah handle mine ours very much because they were too pretty and I think I'm going to put them all the way around the kids' wall. I took all this pictures of them when they arrived in the mail the other day. Noah and I couldn't decide which was our favorite, they're all so pretty.

We saw airplanes

An airshow in Tucson. With a little aviation enthusiast in the family, how could we miss it? We had a great time. Never even made it to the bleachers, but we saw lots of big airplanes up close, and some really incredible stunt plane acts from a little ways away.

The blue angels plane was really a photo setup. Noah waited in line, thinking he'd get to pretend to fly a blue angel (which he LOVES) and he was terribly dissapointed (in tears) when they snapped the photo and then he was kicked out. Poor little guy.

Chris was really excited to see the super guppy open it's whole front (below).

Another tearful exit. Just a photo opp, but he thought he was going to get into the cockpit of a helicopter.

Desert Hike: first time in the backpack!

It looks like he wasn't sure about the backpack, but actually it was the huge camera in his face that he wasn't sure about. The backpack, and the outdoors, he was really excited about.

Check out this one below though. I was really having fun with my new lens :-)

And the big boy carried his own pack the whole way, again.

Hopefully we'll be making it out there again soon.

Zucchini-Pea Pesto

This was so yummy. I can't wait to make it again. Here's what I did: Steam some chopped zucchini along with some frozen peas and then add it to all the ingredients in regular pesto (walnuts, parmesan cheese, garlic) except pesto. We ate it on pasta the first day, and I've been using it as a spread on rice cakes the rest of the week. Really, it's so good.

I took some of the pureed veggies out before I added the other stuff. Wes thought it was gross. He sort of gagged, but oh well. I thought it tasted good.

Noah liked it though. Score.

We made cake pops

Noah and I decided to do a fancy little project for Tasha's birthday. I'd been wanting to try making cake pops, perhaps even trendier than designer cupcakes? Probably not really, but I wanted to see if I could make them look perfect. I couldn't, but at least I had a 2 year old assistant to blame it on. You can find directions on how to make them (they're actually simpler than you might think) at or Little miss momma (among a million others, just search google) so I'm not going to put them here. Especially since, as you can see, taking pictures of them was probably my favorite part. The cute colorful ones were the ones that Noah helped with for Tasha. They were awesome. Later that night after all the boys were asleep I finished them and came up with the funny black and white ones. They were delicious.

We love Eggs

I love dyeing Easter eggs. It's one of my favorite Holiday activities. Noah loves it too, even when we do it way past bedtime. They turned out so pretty. Wes loved them too. In the morning, we went out in Nana's front yard for some egg hunting.

Noah found most of the eggs, but sweetly shared them with his baby brother.

And here are some pretty spring Flowers from our weekend in Flagstaff:
