We left on Sunday morning on our two day road trip to Santa Cruz, CA. Noah was set up with all his toys, and we were all set up for a long stressful journey with a baby who didn't want to be in the car. We were so wrong! Noah slept for about half of the first day (ten hours) and then for the other half he sat happily playing, eating, drinking out of his sippy cup, and singing. We had our book on tape (so we were really on an arctic adventure) and the trip went by fast. We stopped at a motel 6 in a little town (or cluster of gas stations) calls Lost Hills. It was clean and quiet and we slept in until 9:00 before heading up the rest of the way.
Just outside of L.A. Chris took this photo of a lake at sunset and the photo above of his reflection and Noah and I in the car.
We're all staying at my uncle Gordon's beautiful house in the redwoods. It's warm and cozy by the fire, and so nice to look out all the windows at the misty trees.
And Chris is FINALLY on vacation.
