Back to the Tucson Mountain Park

We haven't been hiking in the desert very much since Noah was born. Now that it's finally cooling off (and Chris had a tiny free moment from the school slavery that is his life right now), we jumped in the car and headed to one of our favorite little sunsets hikes. It's only about a ten minute drive from our house, which is one of the great things about it. Noah loved looking at all the cactus from Chris' back.

I think I would have seen more if I hadn't been watching a little nervously as his little socks came within inches of several cholla cacti (you know, the ones with tons of little branches covered in monster thorns that try to hitch a ride on you?) that were hanging into the trail.
We stopped for a little break when Noah informed us that he was tired of riding in the ergo. If the sunset light hitting the cactus wasn't enough, Chris had stashed a bottle of bubbles in the pack for desert entertainment. They were a hit! (although I know this photo doesn't illustrate that very well)

We did have some chilly days, but it's warmed back up. This is the Tucson winter that we love.
