Wintertime Desert Rains

Chris and I have been trying to get out hiking for exercise and fresh air as much as we can lately. This is the time of year when it's hard not to love the desert. After a rain it smells so fresh and alive. Everything is greener and there are little plant shoots popping out everywhere.

This afternoon we went to go for a walk around the little desert trails near pima community college. About two minutes after we got out of the car and started walking we were overtaken by a rainstorm that sent us straight back to the car.
Determined to get our exercise for the day, we could see the sun shining through to the southwest of us, where one of our favorite nearby hiking trails is. As we drove up into a very light sprinkle we could see the most beautiful vividly colored rainbow back over town.

We had a great little hike, even though it started to get a little bit dark by the end.

I share the same sentiment. Like this morning, when it smells so delicious after the rain.

I'm so glad you got a photo of that incredible rainbow! Sean and I were admiring it as well yesterday. Gorgeous!
